FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (1-15, 1-7-0 A-10) will play their second to last game of the season, as they will host longtime rival George Washington (3-9-3, 0-6-1 A-10) at George Mason Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m.
Not only is it Family Weekend at Mason, Sunday's game will also be Mason's Alumni Game. Former Patriot soccer players will be recognized at halftime for their dedication and contributions to the storied Mason Women's soccer program.
TICKETING INFORMATION
Regular season home games for George Mason Women's Soccer will require a ticket for entry. They are available for purchase online in advance, calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 703-993-3270, or by purchasing at the George Mason Stadium Gate. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 12 and under. Discounted rates are available for groups of 10 or more as well as George Mason faculty and staff.

LAST TIME OUT
Last Thursday, Mason traveled west to Ohio to face Dayton in their final road match of the season.
The Patriots lost to the Flyers 3-0.
SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington finished their non-conference schedule with a strong 3-3-2 record, but they have not been able to find the same success playing within the Atlantic 10 Conference, where they are 0-6-1. The Revolutionaries are currently on a six-game losing streak.
Out of the 15 teams in the A-10 standings, the Revolutionaries are currently placed in 14
th. The Patriots, on the other hand, are in 13
th.
Both teams lead the conference in most goals conceded, with Mason having let in 51 goals and George Washington conceding 31. The Revolutionaries, however, have a productive offense. They have the fifth-most goals scored in the conference with 19.
Also in the conference, George Washington is fifth in total shots with 205 and seventh in shots on goal with 84. Mason, on the other hand, is last in both categories, only having 77 shots with 36 on goal.
Forwards Kelly Poole and Kate McGrath share the team lead in goals with three. Not far behind are midfielders Abby Caoile and Caitlin Cunningham and forward Isabel Kelly with two goals each.
Sophomore midfielder Aoi Kataoka leads both the team and conference in assists with six. Kelly Poole is second on the team with three assists.
In goal, work has been spread evenly across three players. Graduate student Rose Hemans has played and started in seven games, made 34 saves, posted a team-leading 1.67 goals against average and has a .773 save percentage.
Sophomore Grace Crowe has played in seven games, started in three and leads the team in saves with 41. The Brenham, Texas, native has a 2.96 goals against average and a team-leading .774 save percentage.
Finally, junior Ainsley Lumpe has played in nine games and has started in five. The Huntington, N.Y., product has 24 saves, a 1.82 goals against average and a .727 save percentage. Lumpe was in goal in George Washington's latest game against Duquesne on Thursday, where they lost 3-0.
HISTORY WITH THE REVOLUTIONARIES
Because of their proximity to each other, the Patriots and Revolutionaries have faced off against each other quite often since George Washington started their women's soccer program in 1993. In those thirty years, Mason has dominated the head-to-head matchups with a 23-3-5 record.
Mason's 23 wins against George Washington are more than any other school they have faced in its program's history.
The last time Mason faced off against George Washington was last season on
Sept. 15, 2022, when they played to a 1-1 tie in Washington, D.C. Before last season's meeting, they met twice in the shortened 2020-21 season, where they split the series with one win-a-piece; George Washington won in Fairfax on
March 14, 2021, while Mason won in D.C. on
April 4, 2021.
The last time the Revolutionaries played a full season that involved playing in Fairfax was on
Oct. 24, 2019, where the game ended in a 2-2 tie. As for Mason, their last full season win against George Washington was on
Sept. 27, 2018, when they won 2-0 in Washington, D.C.
