FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Freshman
Sam Jung leads the George Mason men's golf team after the first two rounds of its first stroke play tournament of the spring.
Jung is tied for 18th after 36 holes at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate on Monday. As a team, the Patriots sit in ninth at 16-over 592 (296-296) heading into the final round on Tuesday at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.
Jung, a native of Centreville, Va., played two solid rounds of golf, shooting a 1-over 145 (74-71). He capped off his day with a 1-under 71 to climb up 11 spots from the first round. Junior
Jeff Wilson is just a stroke behind at 2-over 146 (73-73) in a tie for 23rd.
Freshman J.P. Miller is tied for 40th at 6-over 150 (74-76) and graduate student
Connor Messick is right behind him in a tie for 45th at 7-over 151 (75-76). Freshman
William Christian rounds out the Patriots' five golfers in 72nd place with a 20-over 164 (80-84).
