BOCA RATON, Fla. – Another sub-par round has kept
Connor Messick in the top 10.
The George Mason graduate student shot a 1-under 71 on Saturday and is tied for seventh after two rounds of the FAU Spring Championship. Messick is in a four-way tie for seventh at 4-under 140 (69-71) after the best two rounds of his collegiate career at the Osprey Point Golf Club.
As a team, Mason shot a 2-under 286 on Saturday thanks to three rounds of par or better. The Patriots are in ninth place at 2-over 578 (292-286). They are just one stroke behind Miami (Ohio) and three behind Houston Baptist and Florida Gulf Coast heading into Sunday's final round.
Freshman
Sam Jung is tied for 25th at 1-over 145 (73-72) after he shot even-par Saturday. Freshmen J.P. Miller (79-69) and
William Christian (74-74) are tied for 48th at 4-over 148. Miller carded a career-best 3-under 69 Saturday thanks to six birdies. Junior
Jeff Wilson is in a tie for 57th at 6-over 150 (76-74).
Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Sunday for the final round.
