FAIRFAX, Va. – The conference accolades were aplenty for the George Mason men's and women's track and field teams on Wednesday.

Academically, the Patriots continued to show their prowess with three on the A-10 All-Academic Teams. The teams are comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their athletic and academic performance. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's sports information directors.
Dorsey, a sprinter from Baltimore who graduated with her degree in environmental science earlier this month, was named to the All-Academic Team for the fifth time (indoor and outdoor) in her career. This honor comes a day after she was named to the prestigious Google Cloud Academic All-District ® Women's Track/Cross Country Team. She also received one of the A-10's 14 postgraduate scholarships and has been named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll six times.
She won six A-10 gold medals during her career, including helping the 4x400-meter relay team win the title earlier this month and set the A-10 Championship record with a time of 3:38.58 at George Mason Stadium.
Garnand, a pole vaulter from Chesapeake, Va., made the All-Academic Team for the first time in her career. Garnand, who recently graduated with her degree in kinesiology, won the gold medal in the pole vault at the A-10 Championships for the second straight year. For her career, she won three A-10 championships (indoor and outdoor) and was named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll three times.
Seals, the 2018 A-10 Outdoor Men's Outstanding Field Performer, was named to the All-Academic Team (indoor and outdoor) for the fourth time. The rising redshirt senior collected three medals at the 2018 A-10 Outdoor Championships, including winning gold in the 110-meter hurdles. He also qualified for the high jump in the 2018 NCAA East Preliminary Championships for the third time.
