Final Results
LEESBURG, Va. – For the first time since joining the Atlantic 10 five years ago, the George Mason men's and women's cross country teams played host to the conference championships.
A big crowd was on hand for the A-10 Championships on a sunny Saturday morning at scenic Oatlands Plantation. The Mason men finished eighth and the women placed ninth for the Patriots. The Dayton men and women captured both team championships.
On the men's side, junior
Grayson Morgan finished just one spot out of all-conference recognition for the second straight year. The Richmond native placed 16th with a time of 25:50.3 on the 8K course.
Junior
Ciara Donohue was the top Mason finisher for the fourth straight time this season. The Purcellville, Va., native placed 22nd on the 5K course with a time of 18:34.6.
As a team, the men scored 214 points. Behind Morgan, junior
Trent Lancaster finished 41st in 26:30.8. Junior
Paul Adam was 45th in 26:34.4. Sophomore
Ethan Newland was 54th in 26:46.9 and sophomore
Andrew Carlin rounded out the top five in 63rd with a time of 26:57.2.
On the women's side, the Patriots scored 223 points. After Donohue, senior
Amber Hawkins was 37th with a time of 18:58.2. Junior
Carolyn Conley took 53rd in 19:16.6. Freshman
Riley Freeland placed 57th in 19:21.3 and sophomore
Sarah Richart finished 65th with a time of 19:31.
The Patriots return to action on Nov. 10 with the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.
