FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's golf team hits the course for its third tournament of the fall.
The Patriots play in the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Elon on Monday and Tuesday in Burlington, N.C. The three-round tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. to kick off 36 holes on Monday at Alamance Country Club and continues with the final round beginning with tee times at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The course is a par-71 and total 6,867 yards.
The field features 15 teams: Atlantic 10 rivals George Washington and La Salle, host Elon, Western Carolina, High Point, Gardner-Webb, Delaware, Drexel, Radford, Appalachian State, Morehead State, Presbyterian College, Longwood and Towson. Wake Forest will also bring individuals only.

Eric Edwards shared medalist honors for his first collegiate victory after he shot a 10-under par 203 (66-69-68) in his home state of North Carolina. Edwards, a native of Salisbury, N.C., is off to another strong start this season.
The two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference has been the Patriots' top finisher in each of their first two tournaments this season. He tied for sixth at the Patriot Intercollegiate three weeks ago to earn A-10 Golfer of the Week honors and then tied for 24th at the Firestone Invitational two weeks ago.
As a team, the Patriots are looking for their first top-five finish of the season. They placed seventh at their season opener and home tournament at the Patriot Intercollegiate and tied for 10th at the Firestone Invitational.
