WASHINGTON, D.C. – The George Mason softball team (14-27, 5-10 A-10) will continue its road trip and cross the Potomac to play rival George Washington (20-20, 6-9 A-10) at GW Softball Field. Tuesday's games will be a doubleheader that was rescheduled from two weeks prior due to inclement weather.

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS
The Patriots are coming off a successful 3-1 week that saw a walk-off home run win against Georgetown and the season's first A-10 conference series win at UMass.

In the Georgetown game last Wednesday, starting pitcher Carly Cooper (5-12, 3.82 ERA) struck out a career-high 10 batters, but the score would remain 1-1 going into extra innings. In the top of the eighth inning, Jordan Tallman (4-6, 5.63 ERA, 1 SV) tossed a 1-2-3 perfect inning on eight pitches. In the bottom half of the frame, leadoff hitter Maddy Myers (.242 / .309 / .339 ) hit her first-career walk-off home run to left. Tallman was credited with her third win of the season and the Patriots snapped a five-game losing skid.

Over the weekend, the Patriots traveled up to Amherst, Mass., to take on the Minutewomen of UMass in a three game series. Mason won the first two games, sealing the team's first A-10 conference series win of the season. In Sunday's finale, the Patriots fell to the Minutewomen 2-1 despite outhitting their opponents.

She hit a team-high 8-for-13 this week, drew two walks, and recorded a hit in every game. The senior from La Plata, Md., is currently on a three-game multi-hit streak as well and has recorded a hit in eight of her last 10 games. Bales' best game of the week came in Game Two of the Saturday doubleheader at UMass, where the outfielder went 3-for-4 with a triple and a career-high home run. She was one double shy of hitting for the cycle. Bales' slash line led all Patriot batters as well (.615 / .643 / 1.154).

The center fielder hit her third home run of the season in Game Two of the UMass Saturday doubleheader, where the Alexandria, Va., native hit a two-run home shot. Lampela also had two doubles on the week and recorded a hit in three of four games. On the field, she made six putouts, made one outfield assist and recorded zero errors.

Elyssa DeRosa (.291 / .346 / .325) is currently on a six-game hitting streak, dating back to Game Two of the Saint Joseph's doubleheader on April 6. It is the longest hitting streak on the team.
