WASHINGTON, D.C. – George Mason senior starting pitcher Carly Cooper was named this week's Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. This is Cooper's second career conference weekly honor and the softball team's third weekly award of the season.
Pitcher of the Week – Carly Cooper: 3 Appearances, 3 Starts, 1-1 W-L, 1.50 ERA, 10 H, 10 K, 5 BB, 3 R, 3 ER, 14.0 IP
Cooper pitched 14 innings over three starts, had a 1.50 ERA, struck out 10 batters and only had three runs scored on the week. After tossing a 10-pitch perfect inning against #12/13 Missouri, the Seneca Rocks, WVa., native followed it up with a shutout win against Fordham the next day, where she pitched six innings and struck out five batters.
In her final start of the week, Cooper battled the Rams in a pitchers' duel where she went the distance and struck out five more Rams. Her last start also included a career first in which she pitched a complete game and allowed zero walks.
The last time Cooper was tabbed A-10 Pitcher of the Week was March 15, 2022.

Cooper and the Patriots (11-23, 3-6 A-10) will hit the road for a three-game road series at Saint Joseph's starting on Saturday, April 6 and finishing on April 7. Saturday's doubleheader will start at noon, with the second game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The first pitch of the series finale the following day will be scheduled for noon.
