FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason men's and women's track and field teams took advantage of the warm weather at their lone home meet of the regular season.
The Mason men's team finished first in the 13-team field with 115 points on Saturday at George Mason Stadium, well ahead of William & Mary (77 points). The Mason women (66) finished fourth, just behind William and Mary (69.5). The VCU was the top women's team with 135 points and James Madison placed second (107). The Patriots also honored their 15 seniors during a special senior day ceremony on Saturday night.
On the men's side for the Patriots, redshirt junior
John Seals led the way with a first-place effort in the high jump with an IC4A qualifying mark (2.15 meters), a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (14.14 seconds) and a fourth-place performance in the javelin (52.98 meters).

SeniorÂ
Raeshawn Bishop finished second in the triple jump (14.89 meters) and qualified for the IC4A Championships. FreshmanÂ
Benjamin Viau took fourth in the discus (49.26 meters), surpassing the 47.00 IC4A qualifying mark.Â

In the 400-meter dash, Mason had three finishers among the top seven collegiate runners, with all three posting IC$A qualifying times. Redshirt sophomore
Tyler Benson (48.19( and junior
Rico Gomez (48.36) were fourth and fifth overall, respectively, and second and third among college competitors. Freshman
Ian Christian finished ninth - seventh collegiately - with a time of 48.64.

Three Patriots qualified for the IC4A Championship as well in the 800-meter race. Redshirt junior
Blaine Lacey led Mason with a time of 1:50.03, Senior
Logan Miller finished seventh (1:53.69) and freshman
Cameron Steven finished just behind Miller in eighth (1:53.69).

Freshman
Cameron Faint took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.12. Faint also contributed to a second-place finish by the 4x400-meter relay team, which also included Christian, sophomore Maurice Goode and sophomore
Ben Taylor, that came across the line in 3:20.65.

Mason had two of the top five runners in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase: senior
Paul Adam placed fourth (9:33.63) and redshirt junior
Jonathan Schloth finished fifth (9:37.62).

On the women's side, freshman
Kiana Stallworth placed second in the long jump and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a jump of 5.78 meters.Â

Shelby Garnand finished second in the pole vault with a ECAC Championship qualifying height of 3.71 meters and freshmanÂ
Autumn White (3.56 meters) finished fifth.Â

In the 200-meter dash, junior
Sarah Moore finished third with a time of 23.99. Sophomore
Ashley Lewis ran to a second-place finish in the 800 meters (2:06.55) and qualified for the ECAC Championships.Â

The Patriots return to action next weekend at the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Durham, N.C.
