FAIRFAX, Va. – Senior Abby Weening has begun her outdoor season in dominant fashion, earning her second consecutive Atlantic 10 Women's Field Performer of the Week honor.

Coming off a personal-best 1.72m at the Raleigh Relays during her outdoor season debut, Weening continued her impressive form at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, the team's first outdoor home meet of the year. Her back-to-back recognition underscores her status as one of the conference's top performers early in the outdoor season.

The weekly award recognizes Weening's outstanding performance in the women's high jump invitational at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, where she finished second. After clearing 1.73m on her third and final attempt, she went on to clear 1.76m, 1.79m, and 1.82m—all on her first try. Her new personal-best mark of 1.82m extends her lead atop the A-10 season rankings, moves her to second on George Mason's outdoor all-time list, and currently ties her for ninth nationally in all of NCAA Division I.

While being recognized for her excellence in the field, Weening also had a standout week on the track. She ran a personal-best 13.96 in the 100m hurdles to place fourth, moving her up to fifth in the A-10 rankings and seventh on George Mason's outdoor all-time list. Her performances in the first two early-season meets have served as key tune-ups as she prepares for her heptathlon debut, highlighting her versatility and readiness across multiple events.

Weening and the George Mason track & field teams return to competition at the Duke Invitational in Raleigh, N.C., taking place Wednesday, April 8, through Saturday, April 11.
