TAMPA – Senior
Ellis Messian's steady spring season continued with his best finish so far this season.
Messian placed 13th to lead the Patriots at the USF Invitational, which concluded Tuesday after three rounds over two days at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club. The San Diego native shot a 10-over 226 (77-74-75) for his second top-15 finish of the season.
As a team, the Patriots finished ninth with a 77-over 941 (307-321-313) to finish one stroke behind Murray State. Host and No. 24 South Florida ran away with the tournament title by shooting an 11-over 875 (281-299-295) to finish 29 strokes ahead of Florida Atlantic.
Senior
Eric Edwards tied for 31st with a 20-over 236 (77-80-79). Sophomore
Jeff Wilson was two strokes behind in a tie for 39th after shooting 22-over 238 (76-84-78). Senior
Brock Kovach tied for 49th to round out Mason's top four with a 26-over 242 (77-83-82).

Trevor Tremps, competing as an individual, placed 62nd with a 42-over 258 (88-90-80). Sophomore
Takahiro Nojima was 63rd with a 44-over 260 (88-91-81).
The Patriots stay in the Sunshine State and head north to host the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular on Saturday and Sunday at Mission Inn Golf Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
