FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason men's soccer coach
Greg Andrulis will be enshrined in a hall of fame back in his home state next year.
Andrulis will be one of six inductees into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame's Class of 2019, the hall announced on Friday. Andrulis, who just completed his 14th season as Mason's head coach, is a native of Litchfield, Conn., and played collegiately at Eastern Connecticut State University.
He will be enshrined during a ceremony on Jan. 26 in Cromwell, Conn.
Andrulis has won 120 games in 14 years with the Patriots. He has led Mason to three NCAA Tournaments, a CAA tournament title and the 2013 Atlantic 10 tournament championship. This past year, the Patriots tied for third in the A-10 and reached the tournament title game for the first time since 2013.
Andrulis graduated from Eastern Connecticut State in 1980 with his degree in psychology and spent a year at his alma mater as an assistant coach. He is already a member of three hall of fames – at Eastern Connecticut, Litchfield High and Wright State University. Â
He has amassed 254 victories over 26 years as a collegiate head coach at Wright State and Mason. He served as the head coach of Wright State from 1985-96, leading the Raiders to 134 victories.
He was on the coaching staff of the MLS' Columbus Crew from 1996-05, serving as an assistant coach for the first five years before taking over as head coach from 2001-05. He was named the MLS Coach of the Year in 2004 and he led the Crew to the 2002 U.S. Open Cup championship.
