DAVIDSON, N.C. – The fifth-seeded George Mason men's soccer team fell to fourth-seeded Davidson, 2-1, on Saturday in the Atlantic 10 Soccer Championship Quarterfinals at Alumni Soccer Stadium in Davidson, N.C.

Martim Sereno scored his sixth goal of the year to tie the match late in the second half.
Fourth-seeded Davidson (9-6-3, 4-2-2 Atlantic 10) took the lead over fifth-seeded George Mason (7-6-3, 4-2-2 Atlantic 10) late in the first half. In the 42nd minute, the Wildcats sent a cross from the right side of the area to junior forward Myles Culley who redirected a low shot into the center of the net for his team-leading seventh goal of the season to put the Wildcats in front, 1-0.

Jacobo Sanfeliu took four shots and freshman forward
Jaime Godinho had two shots with one on frame in the opening half of the match.
In the final minute of play in the first half, it appeared that a ball struck the hand of a Davidson defender inside the penalty area but video review was inconclusive.Â
With 24 minutes remaining in the second half, Sanfeliu scored on a break but after video review the goal was disallowed on an offside call.
In the 72nd minute, Culley charged on goal with Salvado coming out to cut down the angle and forced Culley to chip the ball over the crossbar.
Sereno scored the equalizer in the 78th minute when he blistered a shot into the lower left corner for his sixth goal of the season to tie the match, 1-1.
In the 85th minute, Davidson sophomore forward Toby Ibe scored from 20 yards out with a shot that went into the lower left corner to make it 2-1 Wildcats.

The Patriots and Wildcats each had 12 shots, while Davidson finished with an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. George Mason had nine shots in the first half and Davidson recorded nine shots in the second half. The Patriots had six corner kicks and the Wildcats earned three corner kicks in the match.
