ST. LOUIS – A George Mason trio instrumental in the Patriots' run to the Atlantic 10 Championship Game have been recognized.

Goalkeeper Clark Gronek and midfielders Pablo Pertusa and Grant Robinson were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team on Sunday after Mason's 2-0 loss to Rhode Island in the title game.

Gronek, a senior from Shaker Heights, Ohio, posted two shutouts and 14 saves in three tournament games. His double-overtime shutouts against Saint Louis in the quarterfinal and versus Dayton in the semifinals compiled half of his four consecutive clean sheets. He tied a career high with six saves against URI on Sunday and allowed just one goal in the field (not penalty kicks) over his last five games.

Pertusa, a junior college transfer from Alicante, Spain, scored the game-winner against Saint Louis. He headed in corner kick from Colin Brezniak in the 108th minute in double overtime to lift the Patriots to a 1-0 victory over the Billikens on Nov. 4. Pertusa, a 6-foot-3 junior, also contributed to the strong defensive effort in the tournament and over the Patriots' last five games.

Robinson, a junior from Columbia, Md., sent Mason into the championship game with a game-winning goal in double overtime in a 1-0 victory over Dayton on Friday in the semifinals. His right-footed strike from 23 yards away soared into the top left corner in the 102nd minute for his fifth goal of the season, which tied for most on the team. The 5-foot-9 center midfielder also added to the stalwart defense of the Patriots, who finished with seven shutouts on the season.
