SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
The Hawks (7-4-2, 1-1-2) last played a week ago, falling to Davidson 6-2 on the road on Oct. 10. Prior to that, they had rattled off a five-game unbeaten streak (3-0-2), knocking off then-No. 21 Fordham 3-2 in overtime at home on Oct. 6. Sophomore midfielder Alvin Dahn ranks second in the Atlantic 10 with 19 points. He is also tied for second in the league with seven assists in addition to six goals scored. Junior forward Leon Maric leads the team with seven goals, which are tied for third-most in the A-10.

SERIES HISTORY
Deuces are wild as the series is knotted at 2-2-2 all-time. The Hawks have won the last two meetings and hold a 2-1-2 advantage since Mason joined the A-10 in 2013.

A-10 TOURNEY IMPLICATIONS
With the conference season halfway over, the Patriots are currently in a four-way tie for fifth place with six points. Only the top eight teams qualify for Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Championship, which begins with the quarterfinals on campus sites the weekend of Nov. 3-4. A win over Saint Joseph's, which sits in ninth place with five points, would help boost Mason up the standings and into a better position to qualify for the conference tournament for the first time in four years. The Patriots close the regular season against the top three teams in the conference – VCU (13 points), Rhode Island (12) and Davidson (10).

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots suffered a 3-0 loss to Duquesne at home on Saturday. The Dukes broke a scoreless halftime tie as the Patriots surrendered three goals after the break. Mason was outshot 17-8 and registered just one shot on goal. The Patriots have been involved in six straight shutouts, winning three and losing three.

NEXT UP
The Patriots hit the road to play conference leader VCU (8-4-1, 4-0-1) at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Richmond.
