Military Appreciation Night – Guest Coach: General David Cole
General David Cole, a great friend of our program, will be our guest coach for Military Appreciation Night. On Veterans Day, I had the incredible opportunity to attend General Cole Day in Waterloo, Iowa. His hometown honored him with a permanent monument at Paramount Park Circle in recognition of his exceptional life of service.
General Cole served two tours in Vietnam (1965–1966 and 1969–1970), commanding an artillery battery and serving as an adviser. During his career, he commanded an artillery battalion, a basic training brigade, and the Third Corps Artillery—the largest artillery unit in the U.S. Army.
A West Point graduate, he also served on the faculty at West Point, was a member of President Ronald Reagan's Task Force on combating terrorism and served as the Army's representative to the Brookings Institution. His final assignment was as Defense Attaché to Mexico.
