FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams host Old Dominion for the first home meet of the season on Friday, October 3 with the dual meet scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. Admission is free and no ticket is required.
The Patriots and Monarchs met last season on Jan. 20, 2024 in Norfolk, Va. Old Dominion is visiting George Mason for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
Last time out, the George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened the 2025-26 season on Friday at the Potomac Relay Invitational, hosted by American University on Friday.
Facing teams from American, Georgetown, Howard, Mary Washington and Mount St. Mary's, the Patriots' men's team took first place with 504 points and the women's team finished fourth with 388 points.
On the men's side, the combination of graduate student
Agustin Rasche, seniors
Tate Anderson and
Jett Lee and junior
Ian Rodgers took the top spot and set a pool record in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:23.56). The time posted by Rodgers in the 3x100 backstroke was also a pool record.
In the 500-yard freestyle relay, juniors
Alex Crown and
Cody Scifres along with Rasche and Rodgers touched the wall first (4:05.30).
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, juniors
Anthony Garono and
Ryan Serbia, along with Crown and Scifres placed first (6:56.12). Crown and Scifres also combined to win the 2X500 freestyle relay (9:38.53).
Rodgers, Lee and Garono teamed up to win the 3X100 butterfly relay (2:32.11).
In the 400-yard medley relay 4x100 IM, senior
Jack Chapman, Anderson, Serbia and Garono combined for a first-place finish (3:31.69).
Rodgers, Chapman, Anderson and Rasche teamed up to place second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:32.08). Anderson, Serbia and Chapman took second in the 3X100 breaststroke relay (2:52.55).
On the women's side, senior

Sarah Dichak, and freshmen
Alexis Brazier and
Madelyn Abel took second in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:50.75).
In the 400-yard medley relay 4x100 IM, senior
Angelina Zeidan, juniors
Megan Anderson and
Kristen Ivey along with Abel touched the wall second (4:05.26).
In the 2X500 freestyle relay, Dichak and Brazier combined for a second-place finish (10:37.86). In the final event of the day, junior
Casey Tingen, Brehmer, Abel and Tingen combined to take second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:37.01).
Sophomore
Greta Mott, senior
Ainsley Toews, Zeidan and Brehmer placed third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:46.49). Senior
Gracie Sweeney, Brehmer and Anderson combined to take third in the 3X100 butterfly relay (2:59.50).
In the 500-yard freestyle relay, sophomore
Carly Bates, Brehmer, Tingen and Mott were third (4:41.06).
ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
The Mason men's team has 17 returners and five newcomers on the roster for the 2025-26 season.
The Patriots' men's team begins the season with five seniors, 10 juniors, two sophomores returning from last year's roster. The returners will be joined by five newcomers including one graduate student and three freshmen.

THE PATRIOTS SCHEDULE
The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams will competed in eight events with three at home including the annual Patriot Invitational at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.
The Patriots opened the campaign at the Potomac Relay Invitational (Sept. 26/), hosted by American University at the Reeves Aquatic Center in Washington, D.C. Facing teams from American, Georgetown, Howard, Mary Washington and Mount St. Mary's, the Patriots' men's team took first place with 504 points and the women's team finished fourth with 388 points.
George Mason hosts Old Dominion (Oct. 3/2 p.m.) for the first home meet of the season.
The Patriots face Atlantic 10 Conference opponents for the first time at the Richmond Duals (Oct. 17-18) held at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va. The George Mason men's team will face Davidson in a two-day dual, while the women's team will take on Richmond and Duquesne in the two-day meet.
The Patriots will travel again to face William & Mary (Nov. 8/12 noon) at the Bee McLeod Recreation Center in Williamsburg, Va.
George Mason will host the annual Patriot Invitational (Nov. 19-22) at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. Wednesday's opening night relays begin at 5 p.m., while prelims begin at 10 a.m., diving at 1 p.m. and finals at 6 p.m. the final three days.
The Patriots are back on the road for a dual against Towson (Dec. 19) with diving at 10 a.m. and swimming at noon at Burdick Pool in Towson, Md.
The Patriots will compete in two meets in January with a road dual at Delaware (Jan. 17/12 noon) in Newark, Del., and a home dual against Georgetown (Jan. 24/12 noon).
The Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships will be held Feb. 18-21 at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.
