Crimson Elite Live Results | Scarlet & White Live Results

FAIRFAX, Va. – Halfway through the indoor season, the George Mason men's and women's track and field teams head to Beantown for a pair of meets to face some of their "stiffest competition" yet.

The Patriots will take a large group of student-athletes up to Boston for two meets this weekend. Mason will compete at the Crimson Elite Invitational at Harvard on Friday. Then, on Saturday, another crew, including some who will double-dip and compete in both meets, will participate at the Scarlet & White Invitational at Boston University.

"We kind of point to this one as one of the key meets," head coach Andrew Gerard said. "Most of our folks are going to be in their 'best' events or certainly close to their best events. Some people have obviously several events in their arsenal but this is going to be one of the prime ones for us."

The sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers, along with some throwers, will battle at the Crimson Elite. Most of that same group, along with the distance runners will compete at the Scarlet & White Invitational on Saturday.

The Patriots are in the home stretch of their season, with just two meets left - both next weekend - before they host the Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-24 at the Field House. The fields this weekend include Connecticut, Syracuse, Harvard, BU, Jacksonville and UAB.

"This will probably be the stiffest competition outside of the conference meet," Gerard said. "It is probably our most aggressive regular-season meet."
