GAME POSTPONED TO SATURDAY
Friday's night game has been postponed until 1 p.m. at George Mason Stadium due to lightning. Unused tickets may be used for any other men's soccer game this season. Customers should keep their tickets as we will honor them for a future game this year (provided the stub has not been torn).

SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
Like Mason, the Bulldogs are still seeking their first win of the 2018 campaign. Gardner-Webb has lost three of its first four, including a 2-1 setback to No. 21 Virginia Tech in double overtime on Aug. 26 in Harrisonburg, Va. The Bulldogs did follow that up with a scoreless tie against Wofford last Friday but then suffered a 4-2 home loss to Mercer last Sunday. Three players have scored one goal as Gardner-Webb has allowed 10 goals to opponents in only four games.

SERIES HISTORY
The teams have never met before on the pitch.

LAST TIME OUT
Mason suffered its first shutout loss of the season, a 3-0 decision to Drexel last Friday at George Mason Stadium in its home opener. The Patriots outshot the Dragons 19-8 but couldn't find the back of the net. Mason fired eight shots on goal – all stopped by Drexel goalkeeper Stephen Kopsachilis – and junior Ryan Mingachos twice had shots hit the crossbar and post.

GLIMPSE AT THE PATRIOTS
Mason returns 21 letterwinners and seven starters from last year's team that went 5-9-2. Junior midfielder Ryan Mingachos leads the way as the team's top returning scorer as he logged a career-high six goals and three assists for 15 points in 2017. The Patriots add 12 newcomers, including seven transfers and five freshmen. The group features forward Colin Brezniak, who scored three goals and made nine starts at Pittsburgh last fall, and a pair of transfers from Virginia Tech in forward Gregor von Westphalen and midfielder Daniel Damiani. Mason also brings in defender Pablo Pertusa, who was a junior college All-American at Monroe College in New York last season.

NEXT UP
Mason caps off its three-game homestand at 2 p.m. on Sunday against Mount St. Mary's at George Mason Stadium. The Mountaineers are in their first year back as a soccer program since the sport was discontinued in 2012. Mount St. Mary's assistant coach Trevor Singer spent five years as an assistant coach at Mason, leaving in August of last year to help restart the Mountaineers' program.
