FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason rising senior
Jess Curbeira has been identified as one of the best softball players in the state.
On Tuesday, Curbeira was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State University Division Second Team. Curberia was selected to the team in a vote by sports information directors throughout the state.
Curbeira, a first baseman from Henrico, Va., led the team in hitting with a .307 batting average during the 2018 season. She also registered a team-high RBIs (24), hits (46) and total bases (69). Her three home runs were tied for the second-most on the team. She also ranked second on the team in runs scored (26) and doubles (12).
???????She was the only Mason player to start all 50 games this spring as the Patriots reached the Atlantic 10 tournament for the second straight year.
