FAIRFAX, Va. – A pair of field event standouts earned weekly conference honors for the George Mason men's track and field team.

John Seals was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Co-Field Performer of the Week and freshman
Benjamin Viau was tabbed A-10 Men's Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Seals, a multi-event athlete from Springfield, Va., posted the best marks in the Atlantic 10 this season in the 110-meter hurdles, high jump and pole vault at the Raleigh Relays on Friday and Saturday in Raleigh, N.C.
He finished second in the pole vault with a leap of 16 feet, 1 1/4 inches. He placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.54 seconds. In the high jump, he was eighth, clearing a mark of 6 feet, 6 3/4 inches.Â
???????Viau, a thrower from Lititz, Pa., won the discus and shot put at the Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Richmond. He reached the qualifying mark in the discus for the IC4A Championships with a personal-best toss of 155 feet, 10 inches. It is also the second-longest throw in the A-10 this season. In the shot put, he won with a heave of 48 feet, 11 inches for the third-longest mark in the A-10 this year.Â
???????The Patriots are back in action this weekend at two meets – the Colonial Relays on Thursday through Saturday in Williamsburg and the USC Gamecock Invitational on Saturday in Columbia, S.C.
