FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's cross country teams were recently awarded for their success in the classroom this past fall.

Both the men's and women's teams were named Division I All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This marked the 10th straight year the men's team has received the honor and sixth consecutive year for the women.

In order to be eligible for the award, teams must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. The Mason women's team had a 3.47 GPA while the men compiled a GPA of 3.16. 

A total of 228 Division I women's teams and 195 Division I men's teams earned All-Academic Team honors from the USTFCCCA.
