FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's lacrosse team heads south for spring break looking to add on to its best start in 10 years.
The Patriots play Campbell at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Buies Creek, N.C. It marks the first of five straight road games for Mason (4-1), which is off to its best since 2008.
The teams have met twice before, with the Patriots winning during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. The Camels (2-5) have lost two of three and are coming off a 17-11 loss at Cincinnati on Thursday. They are led by junior Melissa Placek (19 goals) and senior Mackenzie Koeller (15 goals).
The Patriots have won two straight, including a 13-5 victory over William & Mary on Saturday at George Mason Stadium. Junior

Corinne Wessels added three goals and three assists and senior
Kristin Morgan tied a career-high with three goals. Sophomore goalkeeper
Melissa Semkiw made 12 saves and allowed just two goals after halftime.
After Wednesday, the Patriots will stay on the road to play Stetson at noon on Sunday in DeLand, Fla.
