NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) is proud to announce the five recipients of the 2026 Trina Mangano Scholarship, awarded by the IWLCA Officials Recruitment and Development Committee. Selected for their participation in a College Player Officials Academy (CPOA) event and their demonstrated dedication to pursuing officiating opportunities in the sport, this year's scholarship recipients are Eliza Ekstrand, Sienna Fox, Marlo Meador, Emily Mowbray, and Isabella Sabatino.
"Our committee is proud to recognize this year's five Trina Mangano Scholarship recipients and support their continued involvement in our sport through officiating," said Stephanie Allen, Binghamton University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Chair of the Officials Recruitment and Development Committee. "Trina understood the importance of investing in the next generation of officials, and these five recipients embody that same spirit of commitment, passion, and service. We are excited to support them as they take this next step and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on the game for years to come."
"I am so excited for the opportunity to give back to the sport that has given me unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and has helped shape me into the person I am today," said Mowbray. "Through this scholarship and program, I hope to inspire future generations of lacrosse players and give them the opportunity to experience the same joy, growth, and sense of community that lacrosse has always given me."
Mowbray, who played the 2026 season with the Patriots as a transfer graduate student, tallied eight goals, 3 assists, four ground balls, and three caused turnovers in her one season with the Patriots.
About the Trina Mangano Scholarship
The Trina Mangano Scholarship honors the legacy of Trina Mangano, a nationally and internationally rated official whose impact on the game extended far beyond the field. Mangano played a key role in shaping the next generation of officials through her service on the US Lacrosse Training Committee, her work as a CWLOA trainer, and her position as the officials' assignor for IWLCA recruiting events. Mangano's passion for education and mentorship helped elevate the standard of officiating in women's lacrosse. The scholarship established in her honor recognizes individuals who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing officiating opportunities and supporting the continued growth of the game. Through these scholarships, the IWLCA honors Mangano's enduring legacy and unwavering commitment to growing women's lacrosse through the development, education, and support of officials.
