Final Results
FAIRFAX, Va. – A small group of George Mason men's and women's track and field athletes recorded encouraging performances during the last weekend of the regular season.
The Patriots competed at the VMI Winter Relays on Friday and Saturday in Lexington, Va. The weekend served as a final tuneup for 16 Mason student-athletes as the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships loom next weekend at the University of Rhode Island.
On the women's side, freshman
Kiana Stallworth won the long jump with a personal-best leap of 5.91 meters (19 feet, 4 3/4 inches). Stallworth has the best mark in the A-10 this season by more than eight inches. Freshman
Taylor Prosise took fifth in the event with a jump of 5.47 meters (17 feet, 11 1/2 inches). Stallworth also tied for 10th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.80 seconds.
On the men's side, freshman Devin Roehler led the way by placing fourth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:36.61. Fellow freshman
Jake Lonsdale finished fifth in the 3,000 meters in 8:49.29.
The Mason men look to defend its A-10 indoor conference championship on Saturday and Sunday in Kingston, R.I.
