FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason freshman Síobhra O'Flaherty has been recognized as one the top newecomers in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

On Tuesday, O'Flaherty was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team. The native of Carlow, Ireland, finished 15th at the A-10 Championship on Saturday in Mechanicsville, Va.

She was the second freshman to cross the line, finishing with a time of 17:50.4 on the 5K course. She was one of just two freshmen – La Salle's Elizabeth Mancini being the other – to earn A-10 All-Conference honors for finishing in the top 15.

O'Flaherty and the Patriots will be back in action on Nov. 9 with the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in Rock Hill, S.C.
