FAIRFAX, Va. – A trio of George Mason track and field student-athletes earned weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Senior
Nathan Schulte was named the A-10 Men's Track Performer of the Week, senior
Shelby Garnand was named Women's Field Performer of the Week and freshman
Autumn White was tabbed the Women's Rookie of the Week. All three were honored for their performances at the Patriot Games Invitational on Saturday at the Field House.
Schulte won the 1,000-meter run and posted the sixth-best time in program as he was named the A-10 Men's Track Performer of the Week for the second time this season. The senior from Fairfax, Va., ran a personal-best time of 2:23.38, which ranks sixth on Mason's all-time indoor charts. The time is also the fastest in the Atlantic 10 this season and ranks eighth nationally.
Garnand won the pole vault with a personal-best leap of 3.95 meters (12'11.50"). The Chesapeake, Va., native has won all three pole vault competitions she has competed in this year. Her mark of 3.95 meters also is currently the best in the A-10 this season.
White finished second in the pole vault at the Patriot Games and was the A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. She cleared a personal-best mark of 3.70 meters (12'1.50"). The Forest, Va., native, reached the ECAC qualifying mark with the jump and ranks third in the A-10 this season in pole vault.
