FAIRFAX, Va. – After opening their 2026 outdoor season at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge, three Patriots earned Atlantic 10 weekly honors following impressive performances.
Graduate Student Kennedy Drish earned A-10 Women's Field Performer of the Week honors after a record-breaking pole vault performance. Drish cleared 4.33m to win the event and set a new George Mason outdoor school record, surpassing the previous mark of 4.32m set in 2014. Her mark leads the Atlantic 10 this season, ranks third in NCAA Division I, and sits atop the NCAA East Qualifying List.
Freshman Kellen La Roche claimed A-10 Men's Rookie of the Week honors following an impressive collegiate outdoor debut highlighted by wins in both the high jump and long jump. La Roche cleared 2.05m in the high jump, ranking third in the A-10, 30th in NCAA Division I, and 20th on the NCAA East Qualifying List. He also captured the long jump title with a mark of 7.11m, which ranks fifth in the conference and 38th on the NCAA East Qualifying List.
Graduate Student Ella Semple was named A-10 Women's Track Performer of the Week following a strong showing in the 1500m. Semple claimed victory with a personal-best time of 4:26.51, which leads the A-10 and ranks 31st in NCAA Division I. Her time also moves her to fifth on George Mason's all-time outdoor performance list.
George Mason returns to competition at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State from Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28.
