Mason plays its first ever Atlantic 10 conference series with the 7-9 Fordham Rams this weekend. The Patriots most recently won the series over Brown last weekend with Jared Gaynor and Evan Porcella picking up the victories. 

Several Patriots come into conference play vs. Fordham leading the A-10 in various categories. Blaise Fernandez (8) and Josh Leemhuis (6) are first and second in doubles, Jared Gaynor (0.84) and Anthony Montefusco (0.87) are 1 & 2 in ERA and are tied for first in strikeouts with 29. Luke Willis leads with 7 stolen bases and Chris Cook is first with three homeruns and has been hit by 10 pitches.

Coming into the weekend, Leehmuis and Brandon Gum are currently on a seven game hitting streak while Leehmuis has also reached base safely in the last 12 games. Through the first 18 games this season, the Mason pitching staff has a team ERA of 2.63, the 36th lowest in the coutnry.

Fordham comes into the weekend with a 7-9 record, currently fifth in the A-10. The Rams most recently fell 11-4 at Hofstra and are 0-5 on the road this season. Tim Swatek leads the team with a .389 batting average, two homeruns and 13 RBI and will also make the start on the mound Sunday.
