Mason takes to Spuhler Field one last time this season, hosting Delaware in CAA action over the weekend. Friday's 3:00 pm game is the George Mason Game of the Week, and all students in attendance will receive a Mason mini bat when presenting a valid student ID. Before Sunday's 1:00 pm affair the team will take a moment to recognize its senior class for its contributions to the program and university.

Entering the weekend with a 32-17 overall and 15-9 conference mark, the Patriots will look to gain ground on the University of Delaware, who ranks just behind them in the conference standings with a mark of 11-10 and an overall record of 21-22. The Blue Hens swept the season series last year, but Mason swept the last meeting at Spuhler Field during the 2010 campaign.

Senior Brig Tison continues to lead the Patriots, batting .361 with 73 hits, 42 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. He entered the week ranked 13th in the nation with 70 hits. Senior Zack Helgeson has driven in a team-best 39 runs and continues to lead the conference with 11 home runs.

Junior closer Chris O'Grady has been outstanding out of the bullpen for Mason, posting a 0.57 ERA and striking out 44 batters faced while only issuing 15 walks in 31.1 innings of work. On Tuesday against Richmond, O'Grady picked up his 14th save of the season, tying him for the top spot on the single season saves list at Mason. The bullpen has posted a combined 20 saves this season, besting the previous team total of 16 from the 2007 campaign.

The Blue Hens are paced by freshman Tyler Powell, who is hitting .359, while junior outfielder Nick Ferdinand leads the team with 36 RBI's and 49 hits and junior infielder DJ Long has posted a team-best 34 runs scored and 16 doubles.
