Biography

2012: Drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 10th round, becoming the second-highest drafted Mason player in program history ... earned first team All-CAA Honors ... was also recognized as a NCBWA Third Team All-American, First Team ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region player and First Team VaSID All-State ... named to both the NCBWA Dick Howser Trophy and Stopper of the Year semifinalist lists ... made 25 appearances, all in relief ... went 2-0 with 14 saves and a 1.22 ERA over 37 innings of work ... struck out 51 while walking just 20, and limited opponents to six runs scored (five earned) off of 20 hits ... his 14 saves tied a school single-season record ... added his name to several categories among single season leaders including appearances (25, 5th), saves (14, 1st), strikeouts (51, 44th), fewest hits allowed (20, 2nd), lowest opponent batting average (.163, 1st), lowest ERA (1.22, 2nd), fewest runs allowed (6, 1st) and fewest earned runs allowed (5, 2nd) ... gave up just three multiple-base hits ... held opponents hitless in nine appearances ... posted a season-high four strikeouts on four occasions, including February 25 versus Virginia Tech, March 6 at Mount St. Mary's, March 10 versus Hofstra and March 18 at Towson ... ranks among Mason career leaders in several categories, including appearances (52, 20th), saves (15, 3rd), innings pitched (153, 33rd) and strikeouts (156, 11th).

2011: Appeared in 14 games with seven as a starter and seven in relief ... compiled a 3-3 record with one save and a 5.40 ERA ... in 53 and one-third innings, struck out 58 batters while walking just 27... led the team in strikeouts, was second in wins and third in saves ... held left-handed batters to a .279 batting average ... led the team with 9.79 strikeouts per nine innings ... opened the season as a weekend starter but struggled in that role going 1-3 ... picked up the win over Long Island allowing just two earned runs in six innings of work ... also had a terrific outing against William & Mary allowing just four hits, one walk and one run in six innings while striking out seven ... also struck out seven against Delaware ... final start was against James Madison allowing three earned runs in four innings ... in relief, had several dominant outings ... against Hofstra, in three and two-third innings, struck out seven while allowing no runs on two hits and one walk ... picked up the win at Old Dominion, the only road CAA win of the season for the Patriots, allowing no earned runs in five and two-third innings of work ... also earned the victory against Towson allowing just one earned run on three hits with two walks in four and one-third innings ... did not allow an earned run against Northeastern in three and two-third innings ... closed the season picking up first career save against Georgia State, allowing no runs in four innings with two hits, no walks and two strikeouts.

2010: Was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team and was among the CAA leaders in both ERA and opponent's batting average ... appeared in 12 games with eight starts and compiled a 3-1 record with a 4.06 ERA ... held the opposition to a .264 batting average and surrendered just 64 hits in 62 innings with only 19 walks and 47 strikeouts ... first start came at Richmond (3/2), a no-decision allowing just one earned run in five innings ... first win came at Georgetown (3/17) allowing no runs and just four hits in six innings ... also picked up the win at Northeastern (4/18), being named CAA Rookie of the Week after allowing just one run on two hits and three walks in seven innings ... set a career-high with seven and one-third innings against Delaware (4.25) improving to 3-0 ... had career-high eight strikeouts against Old Dominion (4/11) ... lone loss of the year came against VCU (5/16) ... held right-handed batters to a .239 average and opponents hit just .217 with the bases empty ... had a 2.5-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

2009: Made just one appearance on the mound for the Patriots (2/28 vs. Ohio State) allowing one hit and two walks in two-thirds of an inning.

High School: Earned three varsity letters in baseball and two in football at Clarkstown North High School ... did not play baseball as a senior due to a knee injury ... as a sophomore and junior, named first-team All-Conference ... as a sophomore, had 40 strikeouts and a 1.62 ERA in 46 innings.

Personal: Full name is Christopher Ryan O'Grady ... parents are Pam and Tom O'Grady ... has two brothers, teammate T.J., and Kyle ... a 2008 graduate of Clarkstown North High School ... graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma ... played in the 2008 Empire State Games and earned the silver medal ... also recruited by Delaware, Rhode Island and Iona ... major is physical education.
