MAC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
Buffalo, NY -- Buffalo, NY – Three George Mason wrestlers punched their ticket to the NCAAs, while four Patriots finished on the MAC Championship podium.
Logan Messer won his first MAC Championship title earning a trip to the NCAA Championships for the first time in his tremendous career as a Patriot. The Ohio native has 101 career wins and will compete in Cleveland at the national championship.
Malachi DuVall punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship for the third straight season with a second-place finish. After winning two straight yesterday to get into the championship bout, top-seeded Sal Perrine from Ohio defeated DuVall in the final.
McGee defeated K. Burgess from Buffalo in the third place match with a major decision, 12-2, to earn his third trip to the NCAA Championship.
Tate Hisey enjoyed his first MAC Championship finishing on the podium. The freshman won his first match on Friday before J. Brenneman from Edinboro narrowly defeated Hisey, 7-5. Hisey battled through consolations to finish sixth.
