FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason Men's Volleyball junior
Aidan Weltin was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Offensive Player of the Week,
the league announced Monday afternoon. This is the pin hitter's first weekly conference award of the season as well as his first in his collegiate career.
Weltin continued to lead the Patriot offense over the weekend in Fairfax, recording a career-high 21 kills in his four sets played in
Friday's win over Manhattan. He broke his previous record of 17 against LIU set on
March 1st, 2025.
He once again led George Mason in kills
the next day with 12, capping off a 2-0 weekend (and a 5-1 overall homestand) with a
perfectly placed set-sealing, match-winning corner kill.
Over the weekend, the Lombard, Ill., product led the team in service aces (4), kills (33), kills per set (4.71), points (39.0), points per set (5.57) and serve percentage among those with 30 or more attempts (.900). Weltin also recorded a .338 attacking percentage, eight digs, one solo block in Friday's match and two block assists the following day. Weltin currently leads the EIVA with 4.32 kills per set and 4.89 points per set.

The Patriots will hit the road for the next two weekends as well as beginning conference play. Next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13
th & 14
th, George Mason will travel to Charleston, W. Va., to face off against University of Charleston and open the EIVA season.
The following week, George Mason will be in New Jersey, first against EIVA foe New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark on Feb. 20
th at 6 p.m. They will then travel to Teaneck, N.J., for a single game at Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 21
st at 2 p.m.
