Patriots Look to Secure Piece of Regular Season Championship on Saturday at Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The George Mason women's basketball team travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Duquesne Dukes on Saturday, February 28. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with tip-off set for 2 p.m ET. Mackenzie Banks will be on the GoMason Digital Network starting at approximately 1:45 p.m. ET.

This is the 18th matchup between the Patriots and Dukes. George Mason won last year's matchup, 86-63, but Duquesne holds the overall series lead, 12-5. 

SCOUTING THE DUKES

Duquesne enters with an overall record of 11-17 and a 4-13 mark in conference play. They are averaging 65.2 points per game while allowing 65.5, shooting .385 from the field (662-1719), .333 from three-point range (204-613), and .696 from the free throw line (297-427). The Dukes average 41.8 rebounds per game with a +4.8 rebounding margin, totaling 1,169 rebounds (405 offensive, 764 defensive). As a team, they have recorded 314 assists, 539 turnovers, 226 steals, and 88 blocks through 28 games. In conference play, Duquesne is averaging 59.4 points per game, shooting .380 from the field and .336 from three, with 38.4 rebounds per game.

Alexis Bordas leads the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game, totaling 435 points, while shooting .356 from the field and .361 from three (86-238). She has also added 45 assists and 44 steals in 28 starts. Mackenzie Blackford is averaging 10.9 points per game with 70 made three-pointers, shooting .354 from beyond the arc. Nadia Moore is contributing 12.8 points per game in six appearances, shooting .443 from the field. Reina Green averages 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, while Gabby Grantham-Medley adds 7.2 points per contest with 45 assists.

In the frontcourt, Harriet Ford is averaging 7.1 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game, shooting .475 from the field with 78 offensive rebounds. Raevin Washington is shooting .492 from the floor with 5.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, along with 43 blocks. Maja Rohkohl is shooting .514 from the field in 28 games, and Dunja Zecevic is shooting .452 in 26 appearances. Fatou Sane has recorded 34 steals, while Faith Walker has dished out 38 assists. Duquesne has scored 414 points in the first quarter, 463 in the second, 486 in the third, and 443 in the fourth across all games this season.

Legnani), Leah Keyes (Stafford, Va./Virginia Academy), and Sara Blair (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas). 
  • The George Mason coaching staff added a few new pieces and promoted two key staff members this off season. Demetria Frank was promoted to Associate Head Coach and Nigel Bowden was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations. Lauren Stack and Kate McCarney joined as graduate assistants, and Brandon Stewart was appointed Director of Player Personnel. 

UP NEXT
The Patriots with travel to Henrico, Va. for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Tournament next week. The tournament behinds on March 4 but George Mason has secured a double-bye so will not appear until Friday. Time and opponent will be announce after all games conclude on Saturday, February 28.
