Wrestling Ends Regular Season with Dominate Win at Gardner-Webb

Fairfax –  The George Mason wrestling team competed in its final regular season dual of this season with a 32-14 win at Gardner-Webb.

The Patriots (8-6, 4-3) won seven of the 10 matches to finish the season on a three-match win streak. Gardner-Webb drops to 7-12.

Logan Messer (22-6) and Malachi DuVall (22-4) moved closer to 100 career wins, each notching number 97 tonight, ranking 8th all-time, in dominant fashion. Messer earned a technical fall, 17-1 (5:10) to open the match at 174. DuVall followed with a fall (1:25), his 10th of the season, against GWU's Jackson Lusk to get the Patriots out to an 11-0 lead.

George Mason's Jack Kelly earned his fifth fall of the season with quick work (0:40) against Hadyn Danals.

Gardner-Webb got on the board with a Josh McCtuchen technical fall at heavyweight.

Ben Monn improved to 17-11 with a decision at 125. Tate Hisely (13-9) continues to have a great rookie campaign with a major decision against Till Helma. DJ McGee improved to 21-3 with a decision at 157.

Drew Dickson wrapped up the match with a 18-1 (3:00) against Gunther Gerstenacker at 165 pounds.
