Fairfax –  Highlighted by Logan Messer and Malachi DuVall breaking into the Top 10 in career wins at George Mason history, George Mason (6-6, 3-3) defeated MAC opponent Clarion (6-5, 3-4) on a night eight seniors were honored. 

The wrestlers tied Greg Flourney with 95 career wins wearing the Green and Gold. The two are only one win away from tying Matt Voss and Eric Crushon with 96. Messer and DuVall each have 20 wins this season.

With the match still within reach for Clarion, Jack Kelly delivered big time with a fall in the 197 pound match to seal the win for the Patriots. It was Kelly's fifth fall of the season.

Clarion won the first two matches at 125 pounds by decision and at 133 by medical forfeit. Clarion's #33 Travis Clawson with edged Ben Monm, 5-4, in the opening match. Monn had a takedown in the first period to jump out to the 3-0 lead, but Clawson earned a takedown late in the third period for the win.

The match was tied after back-to-back bonus point matches by the Patriots Tate Hisey (11-9) and #18 Kaden Cassidy (16-0). Hisey got the Patriots on the board with his fourth major decision (9-0) of the season, while Cassidy dominated his match at 149 pounds with fifth technical fall of the season.

George Mason's #16 DJ McGee (20-2) continues to rack up major decisions with his ninth of the season. The top-ranked MAC wrestler at 157 pounds defeated Wesley Barnes, 11-3 to give the Patriots its first lead, 13-9.

Clarion's Alejandro Herrera-Rondon, ranked third in the MAC at 165, defeated Drew Dickson, 5-1, to bring the Golden Eagles to within one point of the Patriots, 13-12.

George Mason won six of the matches, five with bonus points.
