LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – In a match with league-leading Lock Haven, the Bald Eagles won the final three matches to defeat the Patriots, 27-14, in a MAC match held in Thomas Fieldhouse today.
 
With the result, George Mason falls to 5-6 on the season and 2-3 in the MAC.

The Patriots opened the match with consecutive victories at 125 and 133 by decision and tech fall (17-2, 4:33). In a match that went down to the final seconds, George Mason's Ben Monn edged Curtis Nelson, 11-10, at 125. Anthony Lucchiani earned a big win against #33 Gable Strickland. It's his second technical fall in his first collegiate season.
 
Lock Haven its first lead at 11-8 with wins at 141 and 147.
 
George Mason responded with a victory by #17 DJ McGee (157) in sudden death. The redshirt junior sealed the decision, 8-5, with a takedown, and an 11-11 tie halfway through the match.
 
Lock Haven countered with a sudden victory of its own, a 6-3 decision by Ousmane Duncanson over Drew Dickenson at 165. Duncanson secured a takedown to put Lock Haven back ahead, 14-11.
 
The Patriots #32 Logan Messer picked up a 4-1 decision at 174 over former Patriot #33 Avery Bassett in a ranked match.
Lock Haven won the final three matches to earn the win.

The Patriots will host MAC opponent Clarion on Senior Day, Fri. Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. inside the RAC.
