Patriots Drop Road Dual at Delaware

NEWARK, Del. – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams dropped their final road dual of the season at Delaware on Saturday afternoon.

On the men's side, senior Aoun Al-Hiari won two events, the 100-yard butterfly (47.84) and 200-yard butterfly (1:49.19). 

Senior Tate Anderson touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:37.10) and was second in both the 100-yard freestyle (44.17) and 100-yard butterfly (48.98).

Junior Ian Rodgers took the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke (1:47.81) and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (48.42).  In the 50-yard freestyle, sophomore Gabriel Miller took third (21.31) and junior Colby Lane finished fourth (21.49).

The team of senior Jack Chapman, Rodgers, Al-Hiari and Miller placed second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:29.40).  In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the combination of junior Cody Scifres, Rodgers, Al-Hiari and Anderson finished second (3:01.76).

Junior Christian Anderson won the three-meter diving event (297.25).  In the one-meter, Anderson was second (258.00) and sophomore Caden Guy placed third (255.60).

On the women's side, senior Peyton Brehmer took second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.82).  In the 100-yard freestyle, Brehmer was third (52.17) and junior Hannah Magdeburg finished fourth (53.13).

In the 200-yard backstroke, freshman Alexis Brazier placed third (2:06.77) and sophomore Greta Mott was fourth (2:09.70).  Brazier took third in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:32.55).

Freshman Sidney Kaufman finished third in the 200-yard backstroke (57.03).

Senior Ainsley Toews placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.26) and junior Casey Tingen was fourth in the 200-yard IM (2:11.11).

Kaufman, Toews, Brehmer and Tingen placed third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.32).  In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of senior Angelina Zeidan, freshman Madelyn Abel, Brehmer and Magdeburg also finished third (3:30.07).

The Patriots host Georgetown for the final dual meet of the regular season on Saturday, Jan. 24 at noon at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Fairfax, Va.
