FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's basketball team hosts the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with tip-off set for 7 p.m ET with
Steve Kolbe and Debbie Taneyhill on the call. Tommy Buckles will be on the GoMason Digital Network starting at approximately 6:45 p.m.
This the first meeting of these two programs. The Eagles took on the A-10's Davidson Wildcats on November 8 and lost, 51-77.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Florida Gulf Coast enters the season after a 30–4 campaign in 2024–25, including an 18–0 record in ASUN play and an appearance in the A-10 Tournament. Through the first two games of 2025–26, the Eagles are averaging 71.5 points per game while shooting 48.2% from the field, 25.7% from three, and 63.2% at the line. They are allowing 57.0 points, holding opponents to 32.4% shooting and 24.6% from three. FGCU is also posting 44.5 rebounds per game with a +8 margin, along with 10.5 assists, 16.5 turnovers, 9.0 steals, and 5.0 blocks per game.
Individually, Karina Gordon leads the team with 13.5 points per game, shooting 58.8% from the field and 57.1% from three. Sinai Douglas adds 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, while Nay Staton and Jordan Campbell each average 7.5 rebounds per game, with Staton contributing 11.5 points. Eve Alexander (10.5 ppg), Cerina Rolle (8.0 ppg, 3.5 spg), and Anna Mortag (4.5 rpg, 2.0 bpg) round out the early production.
Nationally, the Eagles rank 34th in field goal percentage, 35th in field goal percentage defense, 10th in defensive rebounds per game, 49th in blocks per game, and 87th in rebound margin. In the ASUN, they sit 1st in rebounds, defensive rebounds, rebound margin, and fouls per game, while ranking top 3 in scoring defense, blocks, and three-point percentage defense.

- The George Mason coaching staff added a few new pieces and promoted two key staff members this off season. Demetria Frank was promoted to Associate Head Coach and Nigel Bowden was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations. Lauren Stack and Kate McCarney joined as graduate assistants, and Brandon Stewart was appointed Director of Player Personnel.
