Fairfax, Va. – George Mason Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics
Marvin Lewis announced today a series of staff promotions and a restructuring of the Mason Athletics facilities and events division. The reorganization is designed to advance the program's strategic priorities, including the development of the West Campus project, improvements to athletic venues, and enhancing the overall gameday experience for student-athletes and the campus community.
"We are thrilled to announce the promotions of
Andrew Lieber,
Keith Morrisroe,
Grace Bowes, and
Emma Lee," said Lewis. "Each of them has demonstrated outstanding leadership and an unwavering dedication to enhancing the Mason Athletics experience. Well-maintained facilities and exceptional customer service are vital to creating a positive environment for our student-athletes, coaches, fans, and all visitors to our athletic venues. We are confident that this team will continue to excel in these areas and make a meaningful impact in their expanded roles."
Andrew Lieber has been elevated from Senior Associate AD, Capital Planning, Facilities and Events to Deputy AD, Capital Planning and Strategic Initiatives role. Lieber's position serves on the George Mason Athletics senior leadership team and includes developing both short- and long-range plans for athletics capital projects in conjunction with university and external architects and engineers, administering the construction and renovation of intercollegiate athletics facilities, and strategic oversight of the athletics facilities and events operations team. Lieber will also continue serving as the program administrator for the softball program.
Additionally, Lieber will support university strategic initiatives and serve as the university's program manager to develop a comprehensive plan to reevaluate and repurpose West Campus to be a uniquely 'Mason' destination. Other responsibilities include presenting feasibility and concept plans to senior leadership, reviewing and advising on real estate transaction structures, and collaborating with city, county, and private partners to optimize campus assets.
Lieber brings extensive experience in planning, operations, and sponsorship across the sports and entertainment industry, with roles with professional sports leagues, and Minor League Baseball. In five years as an associate at Brailsford & Dunleavey (B&D), he led over 50 strategic advisement initiatives for sports organizations, as well as municipal clients. During his time at B&D, Lieber helped plan projects totaling around $1B, including facility upgrades at Arizona State University, University of Pittsburgh, and several MLB stadiums like T-Mobile Park and Nationals Ballpark.
Prior to B&D, Lieber managed Ballpark Operations for the Washington Nationals, overseeing 300+ events annually. As Stadium Services Supervisor for three years (2012-2015) with the Kansas City Chiefs, Lieber managed a team with an annual budget of more than $1M in personnel costs. He also spearheaded sustainability initiatives as the project and operational manager.
Keith Morrisroe has been named the department's Senior Associate Athletic Director, Facilities & Events, and will serve on Lewis' Senior Leadership Team.
Joining George Mason in 2014, Morrisroe will continue to manage and oversee all home intercollegiate events for George Mason's 22 varsity sports and coordinate all on-site NCAA and Atlantic 10 competitions.
Prior to his recent promotion, Morrisroe spent the past three years as the Associate Athletic Director of events and game operations. He previously worked as Events, Facilities, and Operations Coordinator from 2014-19.
A native of Chantilly, Morrisroe helped oversee major facility upgrades, including the basketball practice facility renovation (2017) and the basketball locker room update (2018). He worked as championship director and site rep for A-10, NCAA, and EIVA Championships as well during his time in that position. Morrisroe and his team direct, manage, and host more than 200 competitions and events on the Fairfax campus.
A student-athlete, Morrisroe played collegiate baseball at Concord University, where he graduated in 2012 with a degree in recreation/tourism management. One of 10 All-Americans in the program's history, the standout catcher was inducted into the Concord University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. Morrisroe was voted All-Region in three seasons, named to the All-WVIAC First Team twice, and earned a Rawlings Gold Glove during his career.
Following his playing career, Morrisroe joined the collegiate coaching ranks as a member of the baseball staff at Bethune-Cookman from 2012-14. While in Daytona Beach, Morrisroe earned his master's degree in transformative leadership from the University.
Grace Bowes will serve as our Associate Director of Facilities, Event & Game Operations, and will direct our events staff in support of our gameday operations. Bowes oversees the logistics and site preparedness for select home athletic events and is the game manager for women's volleyball, cross country/track & field, softball, swimming & diving, rowing, and women's basketball.

Bowes graduated from James Madison University in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in sports and recreation management, and a minor in business administration and coaching. She earned her master's degree in sports industry management from Georgetown University in December 2023.
In her new role as the Associate Director of Facilities, Event & Game Operations,
Emma Lee will oversee the Field House staff as well as continue to oversee the logistics, site preparedness, and game operations of five varsity sports (men's soccer, wrestling, men's volleyball, baseball, and men's basketball).
A former four-year letterwinner in our women's soccer program, Lee earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in sports management from George Mason. Before taking on a full-time role within the athletics department, Lee served in multiple roles including George Mason Athletics event staff (2018-2022) and George Mason Field House desk staff (2020-2022).
A driven and committed Patriot, Lee has exuded a strong passion and desire to continue to serve her university - a place she has called home since 2018.
