AMHERST, Mass. –
Annabelle Eastman closed out the first day of the A-10 Outdoor Championships with a gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase (10:08.77). The Patriot women are currently in 1st with the men in 2nd.
In total, the Patriots won ten medals, with 16 runners advancing to their final events tomorrow.
Finals
In the 10k,
Sarah Francis grabbed the silver (35:28.20), and in the men's
Jack Ikenberry and
Wesley Bond took 2nd and 3rd (29:46.05, 29:47.95).
Josh Walker placed 6th in the men's 3k steeplechase (9:30.46).
Colton Ocetnik won the men's pole vault at 5.02m. He also won this event at the A-10 Indoor Championship. Teammates
Decker Barborek and
Brody Myers in 3rd and 4th (4.82m, 4.57m).
Amber Askelson,
Hannah Robertson and
Megan Baird snatched 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the women's (3.78m, 3.78m, 3.63m).
Garsen Gross and
Grace Gaudin both finished in 4th in the hammer throw (56.02m, 51.20m).
Grace Furlong won the long jump at 6.02m with teammate
Henrike Fiedler coming in 2nd at 5.96m.
Lindsey Schmidt brought home the bronze in the high jump (1.68m), and
Aidan Walcott placed 4th in the men's (1.94m).
Sunday's Qualifiers
Dean Johnson qualified in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.61. In the 400m,
KellyAnn Downer and
Khia Holloway moved on (55.22, 55.86) along with
Daniel Adu and
Jarett Flaker (48.14, 48.32).
Micah Jones,
Max Karen and
Isaiah Carter qualified in the 100m (10.52, 10.68, 10.68) and
Micah Harris,
Joseph Queen and
Justin Penny did in the 800m (1:51.39, 1:52.09, 1:52.21).
In the 400m hurdles,
Adia Palmer and
Michka-Mae Hyde advanced (1:02.10, 1:03.60) along with
Khia Holloway and
KellyAnn Downer in the 200m.
Isaiah Carter had the top time in the men's 200m (21.43).
Cason Gardner is sitting in first in the decathlon with 4003 points. Abigail Weening and
Lindsey Schmidt are in 3rd and 4th in the heptathlon (3035, 2878).
On Sunday, the men's discus and women's shot put starts at 10:30 AM. The women's 4x100m begins at 11:00 AM.
