NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second consecutive week, graduate student pitcher Aly Rayle was named A-10 Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
This is the third time Rayle has been named as the conference's best pitcher. The first time she was awarded Pitcher of the Week was back on February 28th. She was awarded again last week on March 20th.

The graduate student from Herndon, Va., threw her second no-hitter in the span of one month, this time against conference opponent Rhode Island on Saturday, March 25. In Mason's 3-0 victory, Rayle pitched a complete game shutout, striking out a season-high 11 batters.
The following day, she pitched another complete game shutout victory, striking out ten Rams. She also had a a perfect game up until the fifth inning with two outs.
On Wednesday's game against James Madison, Rayle pitched four innings and struck out five batters. Her five strikeouts accounted for more than half of Mason's strikeouts on the day, which totaled nine.
On the week, the Mason starting pitcher went 2-0, pitched 18 innings, recorded 26 strikeouts and had an ERA of 0.78.
The starting pitcher now has a 7-3 record with a 2.16 ERA, the lowest on the team. She leads Mason's pitching staff with 97 strikeouts on the season.

Rayle and the Patriots (17-11, 4-2 A-10) will be on the road for the next five games. They will first play Longwood in Farmville, Va., for a Wednesday doubleheader on March 29, and they will go to the Bronx to play Fordham in a three-game weekend series on April 1-2.
