La Salle's Madison McCready stuffed the stat line today with two goals and an assist, while Haley Gschrey contributed with a goal and an assist as well.

The Explorers exploded for four goals in the first half, with the first goal happening inside the first five minutes of the opening kickoff. From the half line, Caitlin Donovan placed a pass behind the Mason defense, where Haley Gschrey was able to win the contested ball, take one dribble into the box and shoot the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.

Seven minutes later, in the 11th minute, Madison McCready scored her first goal of the season after Gschrey intercepted a Patriot pass and set up a through ball for McCready in the penalty box. McCready ran up to the ball and took a one-timer left-footed shot from 12 yards out and scored.

In the 29th minute, the Explorers put a string of passes together in a transition play that led to another goal. McCready received the ball in the attacking zone and chipped it over the Mason defense, where Justyce Hollenbach tracked down the ball and took a one timer in the box to secure her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Right before the end of the half, Elizabeth Estrada picked up the loose ball outside of Mason's penalty box by flicking it in the air and hitting it on the volley with a right-footed shot. The ball tailed away from the diving Ginny Fronk.

The final goal of the afternoon was in the 66th minute, when Madison McCready scored her second goal of the game. She was running down the left wing and was given enough space in the penalty box to take a left footed shot. The ball flew into the top right corner of the goal and gave the Explorers their fifth goal of the afternoon.
