Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

FAIRFAX, Va. –
On a rainy Sunday afternoon at George Mason Stadium, the George Mason women's soccer team (0-10-0, 0-2-0 A-10) were shut out by Virginia Commonwealth (3-4-2, 2-0-0 A-10) by the score of 5-0.

HOW THEY SCORED
VCU
10' | Kanna Matsuhisa (2), unassisted
61' | Anna Bagley (3), unassisted
64' | Kendyl Sarver (2), assisted by Kanna Matsuhisa (2) & Anna Bagley (4)
67' | Lindsey Munyak (1), off a VCU free kick
79' | Milica Bulatovic (3), assisted by Anna Bagley (5)

VCU's four most productive players on offense cashed in on the Ram victory, as all four scored a goal. Anna Bagley led the team with a goal and two assists, while Kanna Matsuhisa scored a goal and recorded an assist of her own.

The Rams first scored in the 10th minute off an errant back line pass by Mason goalkeeper Ginny Fronk. Fronk, after having received a back pass from forward Sophie Davidson from her right side, attempted to swing the ball over to her left with a pass to defender Maria Franjicic. VCU's Kanna Matsuhisa ran infront of the waiting Franjicic and intercepted the ball at the top of the penalty box. Matsuhisa collected the ball and shot the ball to the bottom-right corner of the unprotected goal.

After the early mistake, the Patriots settled in and did not allow another goal for the rest of the half. Mason was able to keep up with the Rams in terms of shots on goal and saves. The Patriots even won more corners in the half; Mason was awarded three corners to VCU's one.

The Rams would erupt in the second half, however, scoring four goals in the span of 18 minutes.

Starting in the 61st minute, Anna Bagley collected a Mason goal kick from midfield and slalomed her way from the half line all the way to the mouth of Mason's goal. Evading and dribbling past Patriot defenders, the Rams' leading point scorer shot from the left side of the goal and slotted the ball to the right back post, giving the Rams a two-goal lead.

Three minutes later, Anna Bagley was on top of the ball again in the midfield. After having pressed forward and intercepted a Mason pass, she passed it off the Kanna Matsuhisa, who took the ball and dribbled deep into the penalty box by the right post. Draped with a Mason defender, Matsuhisa dumped the ball off right before crossing the end line to an open Kendyl Sarver inside the six-yard box. Sarver tapped the ball into the empty net and extended the Ram lead.

In the 67th minute, the Rams were awarded a free kick inside their attacking zone after a Mason player committed a foul. From about 40 yards out, Lindsey Munyak, the free kick taker, lifted the ball into the crowded box and scored without any form of redirection.

In the 79th minute, the Rams scored their fifth and final goal of the afternoon. Off a Bagley corner kick, the ball was sent to the left back post, where an unmarked Milica Bulatovic rushed in and headed the ball into the net. Bagley collected her second assist while Bulatovic scored her third goal of the season.
