The Patriots had a chance to equalize almost immediately. In the 16

Sophie Davidson tracked down a ball lobbed to the right wing. With the Rhode Island goalkeeper Faith Hutchins out of her line, Davidson chipped the ball over Hutchins, but the ball hit the crossbar and bounced out.
Ashley Shimberg tried to score off the rebound, but the recovering Rams defenders blocked the shot and eventually cleared the ball.
The score would remain 1-0 heading into the halftime break.
The Rams scored two more times in the second half. Lauren MacDonald recorded her second goal of the afternoon in the 54

Freshman
Molly Starner almost broke up the shutout in the 84

In the final minutes of the game, Mason's goalkeeper
Ginny Fronk stood tall and made a
last-second diving save to preserve the final score. Rhode Island's Sam Hagerty was on a lone breakaway that started from the half line.
