FAIRFAX, Va. – Freshman Sophie Davidson was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Davidson, a native of Fulton, Md., scored two goals in quick succession in Sunday's hard-fought draw at Virginia Commonwealth. She became the first Patriot this season to record a multi-goal game.
 
The forward is now tied for the team lead in goals, along with previous Patriot A-10 Rookie of the Week winner Zoë Vidaurre.
 
Head Coach Manya Puppione was thrilled to see her forward's training payoff and for it to be recognized by the conference in the last week of regular season play.
 
"Since Sophie creates so many chances for herself and her teammates, we have been working with her all season on her finishing ability. She did her job in our game against VCU by sticking to the game plan and tactics we created for her. We are so excited for the future with Sophie as one of our attackers."
 
Sophie Davidson was one of six Patriots to see action in all 18 games in the 2022 season. She totaled 11 shots, with six on goal, and recorded three goals in her rookie campaign.
