FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason men's volleyball program (1-2, 0-0) will host No. 8 Pepperdine (3-0, 0-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. inside the Recreation Athletic Complex (RAC). The match will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Patriots are coming off of a 1-1 weekend in the AVCA Men's Showcase, where Mason prevailed in straight sets against then-No.12 USC (25-23, 25-23, 25-20), but dropped a contest against No. 9 Stanford in straight sets (17-25, 20-25, 17-25).

The Patriots will be without senior Hayden Wagner for an extended amount of time as he recovers from a right hand injury. Wagner currently leads the Patriots in kills (24) and kills per set (4.00).

Fellow senior Sam Greenslade, who earned an AVCA Men's Showcase all-tournament selection, leads Mason in service aces (3), second on the squad in digs (14) and blocks (8), along with being in the top-three this season in kills (15), kills per set (2.44) and assists (4).

SCOUTING THE WAVES
Pepperdine currently sits at No. 8 in the AVCA Men's Volleyball Top 15 Poll, after the program earned three consecutive victories to start the year. The Waves are coming off of their most recent 3-1 victory against familiar EIVA foe Harvard (25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19). Pepperdine held Harvard to a hitting percentage of .259 in their win on Wednesday evening.

The eight seed is led by senior Noah Dyer, who currently leads the Waves in kills (32), kills per set (3.2) and points (42). Pepperdine has out-blocked their opponents 25-12 this season, along with holding their opposition to an attacking percentage of just .139.

The Waves lead the all-time series against the Patriots 10-0, as Mason will look to earn their first ever victory over Pepperdine on Friday night.
