2021: All-EIVA Second Team selection... Greenslade finished second on the team with 174 kills and 22 service aces. On defense, Greenslade finished third in the EIVA in digs per set (1.85) and sixth in the conference in total digs (126)... The outside hitter finished his career tied for third in program history in career service aces (110)... Tallied 11 kills and 10 digs in the EIVA Championship against eighth-ranked Penn State on April 24... Earned eight kills, two aces and six digs in a win over NJIT in the EIVA Semifinal on April 22... Recorded 12 kills, two service aces and seven digs in an upset over eighth-ranked Penn State on April 3... Tallied a total of 22 kills, 11 digs and two aces in back-to-back wins over Sacred Heart on March 21... Earned 10 kills and six digs in four sets versus Charleston (W.Va.) on March 12... 2020: All-EIVA Second Team selection…The Millersville, Pa. native recorded a team high in both kills (164) and digs (127)... Greenslade's 2.02 digs per set ranked him fourth in the conference to end the season… Started and played in all 63 sets as a captain for the Patriots during his senior campaign… Finished the final seven matches of the season with 10+ kills… Tallied 11 kills, nine digs and a season best eight total blocks in a win versus Pepperdine on Jan. 17… Recorded 14 kills, 10 digs, three total blocks and two service aces in a victory versus Ball State on Jan. 23… Notched a season high four service aces at Tusculum on Feb. 8… Earned a season high 15 digs, coupled with 11 kills in a win versus EIVA rival Harvard on Feb. 14…Recorded 13 kills and 13 digs versus Harvard on Feb. 15… Earned a season best 15 kills and two solo blocks in a win versus NJIT on Feb. 21.
2019: First Team All-EIVA selection…First on the team in service aces (38) and second on the team in total kills (215)…Tied for the most aces in a four-set match in the country with six against Barton (Jan. 5)…Nine double-digit kill performances including a season-high 16 kills vs. Saint Francis (2/24/19)…Posted a career-high 13 digs against Princeton (March 29)…Notched a personal best seven blocks against Grand Canyon (March 16)…Season-high hitting percentage of .500 against Sacred Heart…Finished second in the EIVA with 0.422 aces per set.
2018: Hit .324 (19-8-34) the weekend of Jan. 12-13, including an 11 kill performance along with seven digs at No. 7 Loyola-Chicago...Finished with 12 kills and six digs vs. Ball State on Jan. 28...Had six kills and three service aces vs. #1 Long Beach State...Posted nine kills on 15 attempts (.533) vs NJIT (Feb. 16)... Compiled an ace vs. Princeton (Feb. 17) and vs. Penn State (April 7)... Had a career afternoon vs. Harvard (April 14) where he registered 21 kills and four aces for 25.0 points - four aces in a set was the highest amount by a Patriot in 2018, earning him a VolleyMob Player of the Week Honorable Mention...
2017: Enjoyed a pretty active freshman season, playing in 24 matches with 14 starts for a total of 70 sets…accumulated 126 kills (1.80 per set) on a 0.237 attack percentage with four double-digit performances…had 19 service aces (0.27 per set) in his first season, third-best mark on the team…eight assists…64 digs (fourth-most 0.91 per set) and 28 blocks (four solo, 24 assists; 0.40 per set) on the defensive end…picked up career-high 12-kill performances in both home matches against Sacred Heart (March 31-April 1)…also recorded career-high six digs and one of his five three-block performances in the second match against the Pioneers to help the Patriots to crucial EIVA victories…exploded with career-high five aces against McKendree (March 3) and set a career-high in blocks with four against Coker the following night…completed his freshman season with a total of 161 points (2.30 per set).
Prep: Sam Greenslade enjoyed four years of progressive volleyball success at Penn Manor High School, although three of those years he also played basketball. After recording only 63 kills in his freshman season, by the time his senior year came around the outside hitter was the Comets' star in attack. Greenslade embraced the pressure and went on to record 609 kills, 99 aces, and 185 digs in his final season, which earned him the 2016 Lancaster Lebanon League MVP and 2016 Lancaster Newspaper Volleyball Player of the Year titles. Overall, Greenslade featured on the First Team LL League three times while also earning First Team District 3 and First Team All-State honors twice each.
Personal: Son of Gary and Joan Greenslade and the younger brother of Andrew - former decathlete at Slippery rock - and Jessie Greenslade, a former George Mason's women's volleyball player. In his free time, Sam enjoys watching scary movies.
