FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason softball player Adriana Erickson used a career day at the plate to power the Patriots past Fordham, 6-5, on Sunday afternoon. The redshirt sophomore went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two doubles, including the game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the seventh. Mason earned its fifth walk-off victory of the season to improve to 12-17 overall and 2-4 in A-10 play.

Senior Liz Seymour started the scoring for the Patriots with a RBI triple, driving in senior Jess Curbeira. Erickson knocked her first hit of the day, a RBI single, to give Mason the 2-0 lead after the first inning.

The Rams responded with a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning, but once again Erickson quieted their charge with a solo shot of her own. Mason led 3-1 after four innings.

After a quiet fifth inning, Erickson notched her first double of the contest to kick start Mason's two-run sixth inning. The Patriots loaded the bases after a key walk by freshman EJ Bankson. Meghan Graham stepped up with a 2 RBI single, extending the lead to four, 5-1.

The Rams used a four-run top of the seventh inning to even the score, 5-5. Fordham scored three unearned runs after two Patriot fielding errors. Mason headed into the bottom of the seventh with a chance to earn its fifth walk-off victory.

Junior Sydnee Wells reached base on a Fordham fielding error to get the inning started. After Seymour reached on a fielder's choice, Erickson stepped up to the plate with one out and a runner on first. With a 1-2 count, she blasted her second double of the game. Seymour was off to the races as she rounded third to score the game-winning run. Erickson finished the day one triple away from a cycle.

Marina Vitalich provided 4.1 innings of solid work for the Patriots, giving up one run on five hits. Bekah Ansbro recorded the win to improve to 7-6 on the season.
