FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's indoor track and field teams split up this weekend for their final tests before hosting the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships at the end of the month.

The Patriots will send contingents to the VMI Winter Relays in Lexington, Va., and the Spire Invitational in Geneva, Ohio. Both meets begin Friday and run through Saturday.

A group of sprinters and relay teams will compete at the state-of-the-art Spire Institute. Closer to home, the VMI Winter Relays will include more than 25 teams. The field features Atlantic 10 foes Duquesne, Richmond and VCU, former CAA rivals James Madison and William & Mary, crosstown foe American along with Radford and Coastal Carolina. 

These will be the squads' final tuneups before the A-10 Championships on Feb. 23-24 at the George Mason Field House. 

This will be the second time in three years the Patriots have hosted the A-10 Indoor Championships. Mason finished second on the both the men and women's side last year in Kingston, R.I.
